The waterfront and Mare Island side
The streets nearest the water and the old Mare Island shipyard tend to have older housing stock, narrower lots, and limited driveway space. Trucks often park on the street, and we scout the block ahead of time on tighter jobs.
This part of town also has the ferry terminal nearby, which brings a steady stream of people relocating for a commute into San Francisco, often moving into or out of smaller apartments and condos.
Glen Cove and the hillside streets
Up in Glen Cove and the hills above downtown, driveways are steeper and streets curve more than the flat grid closer to the water. Furniture that comes down a switchback driveway needs a different carry than furniture crossing a flat lawn.
Views come with the elevation, and so does a bit more planning for where the truck actually parks on a narrow hillside street.
Apartments along Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street
These corridors carry a lot of Vallejo's apartment stock, and many of the newer complexes have specific moving-day rules about elevator bookings and loading zones. We have worked in most of the larger buildings along both streets and generally know what the leasing office will ask for before you call them.
Older, smaller apartment buildings closer to downtown skip most of the paperwork but often mean street parking and a longer carry from truck to door.
Getting out of town
Most Vallejo moves stay local, but the two main routes out matter for anything longer. The Carquinez Bridge leads toward Martinez and the East Bay, while Highway 37 heads west toward Marin and Sonoma County. We plan departure times around whichever route a longer move needs.
Families relocating from the waterfront side of town toward the hills, or the other way around, are still local jobs, but we treat them as two different logistics problems rather than one generic Vallejo move.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom sits on the edge of town and its event traffic can back up nearby streets on weekends and in the summer, so we account for that when a job falls close to the park.
